Discovery 3 Transfer Case Leak
I was checking my LR3 under for any problems and when i have got to the transfer case i have seen a small leak coming from where the prop shaft goes in. The one going to the front differential.
Now i see that this is just a small leak but i am very paranoid with this car and i do not like this at all.
After some Googleing some schemas i have seen that there is a small O-Ring that sits between the shaft and the TC. Is this correct ? Or i could be completely wrong.
Is this something that i can change alone in my garage or does the whole TC has to come off for this operation.
What would you guys recommend.
I have upploaded some pics of the region with problem.

It’s most likely the front propshaft output seal in the transfer box.
Due to the flange being held in with a snap ring, you have to remove the transfer box, dismantle it and remove the front drive flange, you can then get to the seal, renew, and reassemble.

Hi Steve,
Thank you for your reply. Yes i have talked yo my local garage and they said the same thing.
Now for the moment i do not really have the recurses to atack such a job. I have bought some OEM Transfer Case oil and i will keep and eye on it unitll end of the month.
It only leaks when the car is standing still...if i drive it than the leak is no more, so i gues i will keep on driving
