Halfords Land Rover oil?
Anybody use Halfords Land Rover oil or knows who makes it?-is it recommended?- seems to be as good a value as any, correct spec. and comes in 2ltr containers.

If you click through to the MSDS then it's made by Comma.
Added this as you've posted in the D3 section but your profile has a 2014 D4 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!

Well spotted thanks, - I wondered why it was so cheap by comparison to others, I need WSS-M36934-B 5w-30 from the information I’ve got, it’s more complicated finding the right oil than actually changing it, even Euro Parts are suggesting the wrong oil for a MY14 D4 with DPF.
If my memory serves me correct, Comma is a recirculated oil, a little like remould tyres, I will be giving it a missIt can when others can't,

It IS the correct stuff for the D4 with DPF

So what other oils are suitable for a D4 with DPF?- just names would help not confusing numbers or letters..It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

D4 with DPF needs a 5/30 C1 oil.
The name is a personal choice thing, and there are many views on what's actually the right choice (.. and not necessarily BEST).
Some go with Castrol, Shell, Fuchs, Comma, Carlube, Technolube, Granville, Westway, Halfords, Triple QX, Petronas, Mobil or other recomended brands supplied by the site sponsors.
Some say stick with known large name oils, and others who change at 6/8/10k will use the lesser known ones.
If you like reading, this is worth reading.
In particular the ACEA C category oils.2011 MY D4 HSE
Previously 2001 D2 TD5, 1996 D1 300Tdi, 1985 90 2.2 petrol.

The thing that has thrown me most is on previous service docs it states Shell Helix Ultra Professional 5w30, but the searches I have done have produced an oil with the wrong spec and a price variation of £50 per 5ltr, it appears there is a whole range of oils with this name, the deciding factor appears to be three more letters that follow the name of the oil printed on a different part of the label
Some suppliers don’t even quote the spec numbers, just the viscosity, discounters Eurocarparts is one
For other guys with this dilemma the correct Shell oil is Shell Helix Ultra Professional AF-L, what a mouthful to discribe an oil, is there any wonders that cranks snap? - I just wonder how many Discos out there are running on the wrong spec oil!It can when others can't,

Liqui Moly top tec 4500 for D4 dpf. I have now done 130,000 miles using SE Tech in D3 and now top tec in D4 at least read up on it and hopefully it will lessen your confusion. Stays cleaner longer than other oils to. Mind I change earlier than scheduled. At 10,000.

This is where I ordered my last lot from (7 Ltrs) seemed to be the cheapest with free delivery but it looks like they don’t sell it in 1ltr now so would need 2 x 5ltrs unfortunately.

Opie oils website also appears to be confused as they are recommending A5 (913) for my MY14 D4! , They recommend exactly the same spec for my 55 D3 which is of coarse correct for that.Stu

Best price I’ve seen , same oil £85 for 5ltrs at Eurocarparts they are offering a Christmas discount at the moment they do have some cheaper but it is missing the last L which makes it 913 suitable for non DPF.It can when others can't,
