Turbo knocking???

Hi guys, advice please ......

2007 D3, has just started to make a knocking noise on firm acceleration. It appears that the knocking is only when the turbo would be active, on revving and gentle acceleration the engine is quiet and smooth. I haven't noticed any loss of power and there is no smoke etc......

Am i in trouble here?? is it likely to be a hose or something (fingers crossed) ?????

Thanks in advance

the turbo contains no parts with enough weight to cause much of a knock, how loud and can you feel it as well?

No I cant feel anything through the vehicle or steering. It doesn't sound metallic or anything. The best think I can liken it to is an 'air' noise like you get from helicopter rotor blades, like a:

dough-dough-dough-dough

but its only on what i imagine to be turbo use?

Check boost pressure on live data using diagnostic tool.
Over boost will cause an engine knock (diesel knock / pink).

Check oil pressure, not enough will cause a big end knock under load.

Hope this helps.
