My old TD5 D2 and Defender 300tdi towed this 3.5 ton lump without to much drama. Not tried the D3 yet but I'm expecting great things!
What if the "Hokey Cokey" really is what it's all about?

You'll not be dissappointed, we've just changed to a D3 from our td5, towing new cars using a bj tri-axle, awsome bit of kit but you have to keep an eye on the speedo coz you wizz along without knowing it!!!

I couldn't agree more with most other comments. I tow a twin axle Bailey with no problems whatsoever. I have the swan neck hitch, manual D3 and it tows effortlessly. Towed this van with my old D2 which was good but the D3 is so much better.

TOW a Bailey twin axle wyoming.Like everyone else- no problems, van very stable although she rides slightly nose down compared to my self levelling TD5.Only one complaint, fuel tank too small needing lots of stops on way to south of france.Tows at 2ompg which seems lower than some of the others posted here

I tow a twin axle Abbey Spectrum with the 180litre fridge full of beer
Plenty of weight but the D3 copes no problem. I dont tend to hang around and average about 20mpg which isnt bad considering my normal motorway average is 22 mpg without the caravanDuncan

If I'd known I was going to be so thirsty this morning I'd have drunk more beer last night.

queit a few members on here have fleetwood , a very good van , but i do think you pay a premium for the central heating , if you go out this time of year and just use gas then it will cost you
if you keep it at home put it on e/h for a few hrs before you goPractice safe eating - always use condiments.

we must be doing something right, tow a tri-axle trailer (960kg) plus load average of around 12-1400kg and get 22.9 mph. I agree D3 just out of this world for towing compared to TD5

I've had the Fleetwood for 2 years now, just done 8 nights on a Cl with no hook up. Using at least one big bbq a day, we lasted on one 110ah battery and 18Kg of gas. The Alde heating is the business and the reason we went for the Fleetwood as my son got burnt on the Trauma heater on the last van, blown air works ok but doesn't distribute the heat as evenly and when it is up to temperature the fans create a draft.
I was in fact anti Fleetwood as at the time they had a terrible reputation, but having spoken to their Sales Director and a top guy from Adria (who own Fleetwood) our minds were put at rest. They produced a bespoke van for us which they have subsequently put into production in their current range.
The only downside I can see to the van is their is no internal water tank so aquarolls need protecting in freezing conditions.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
