Water, water everywhere ..... well, on the floor at least.
Question: where can water be coming from to make floor rubber saturated passanger side rear footwell?
Available info:
1: rear sunroof drain elbow does not appear to be leaking
2: cill channel in passanger area is not collecting water, so door seal likely ok, and looks ok
3: front passanger roof drain elbow replaced at weekend
4: A pillar repair kit applied last week
5: Pollen filter dry as a bone
6: front footwell area now damp again, but not sodden, after active air turbine drying
7: driver side sunroof drains not checked
8: headlining dry
So, having changed the passanger side front drain elbow, and having lifted a lot of trim to lift carpet and get access, I’ve found that the rear passanger side is damp.
So damp you squeeze the rubber and it runs, not drips, out.
No water in the cill channel carrying the wiring loom, thankfully.
It’s most damp about the point where the bodywork reflects up the wheel arch.
Aha! I think. The rear passanger side drain. Dead easy this one; drop a couple of bolts and pull, and off comes the trim to let me look.
Only, thee doesn’t seem any sign of damp or such around the elbow, and the rubber under the carpet up there isn’t damp at all. Certainly not sodden as I’d expect if it were leaking enough to make the floor sodden.
Plus looking at it, the path of least resistance would carry it down along the wiring loom to the cill channel, which is reletivaly dry (thankfully).
Checked under the carpet toward the front, and the rubber seems to dry out.
Checked the runner in the front, which was sodden at the beginning of the week, and it’s damp again. Bear in mind I spent all of Monday blasting it with air via a turbine to force dry it, and it was pretty dry tbh, so t has gained moisture from somewhere.
Can’t get up behind the fuse box to feel if the new front elbow is leaking, but it wasn’t on Saturday when we finished.
So, leaves me with a conundrum. Where is the water coming from?
Planning on lifting drivers side, both front and back, to check those; didn’t today as I got pee’d off. Both sides feel slightly ‘damp’, but until the trim is off so I can lift the carpet, it’s impossible to tell properly.
IF the rear drain passanger side is not leaking, and front (confirmed leaking at time of repair) is fixed, could water be coming from other side and spreading from driver side to passanger side?
Otherwise, given info above, where else can water possibly be coming from?
Any ideas?

Need to get someone to hose the car down while u are inside looking for slight trickles of water.

Part of the problem is that the 2 inch thick rubber underlay seems glues to the floor pan, certainly at the front at least.
It’s already torn in a couple of places, but other than brute force, can’t see how to release it.
That and it’s so thick, can’t get it lifted out the front without snapping it.
Any advice?

Check your drivers side drain, if the passenger one was fubar, then the drivers side is likely to be gone as well. It's the easiest one to get at and change. Depending on the angle you park your D3 water could track across.
The Insulation shouldn't be stuck down, it's just a to lift. Take out the trims so that you can lift it from the front and side. After I did my sunroof drains I put a dehumidifier in the car for a week to suck all the trapped water out.

Is it wet up behind passenger sun visor - if so could be a leak under the roof rail

Mine does this when I park boot first on my sloping drive only cos I haven't got round to fixing the front foot well water ingress it runs to the back
job for the summer , mine also wets the pollen filter so at least I have a start point for the culprit.
10 land rovers through out my life and the only ones I don't get pooling water in the foot well are the 90s as it runs back out through the dodgy door seals
our current 90 57 plate XS is bone dry , must be a first mind you, no vent flaps on this model they finally ditched the manual air con
