Wheel Bearing
Just after some advice my wheel bearing is shot but it doesn't look like my new one is going to get here this weekend. So the question is will it be safe to drive for a week until i get chance to fit the new one or can it cause damage elsewhere?Stephen

has it collapsed completely? or does it just have some play in?
Worst case scenrio is the bearing seizes or the wheel off/sends you crashing into whatever may be near you.....1995 Discovery 1 300TDI

Mine chucked the abs light on approx 30 miles from home, so stopped ign off and on and away we went again got us home with no more light and when I jacked it up the next day there was a fair bit of play but not collapsed, I had said to the wife roughly 100 miles earlier is it me or can you hear a bearing noise?
So the answer to your question is how many miles are you planning on doing in that week?

I think trying to judge it on your intended mileage is not the best idea. It could seize at any point (although you will probs be fine) because you can never be sure how long it's been worn for. If there is no play from top to bottom and the wheel rotates fine then it might not be a bearing...1995 Discovery 1 300TDI
