Limp mode

Drove into Glasgow this morning. 40 miles or so no problem. Returned to car and on starting got the

Special programs off. Then the “i” comes up on the dash. No bongs or lights but when interrogated.

Engine management fault and the bloody thing goes into limp mode! Didn’t realise it was into limp mode until I cleared the Braehead carpark. Went over to IKEA about 500 yds and switched off. On restarting the engine all faults cleared and back home -no problems. Anyone any thoughts. This car in 11 years of ownership has never let me down but by god it has the ability to reduce me to a gibbering wreck.

Now back home with an extra large G &T. Rolling Eyes

Battery and alternator are relatively new. I suspect flaky software and algorithms.
