Brake light goes out when sidelights on...
...only on the drivers side
Mate was following me home last night and noticed the issue above....but only when my lights were on....I assume I have a bad earth somewhere or are there other possible causes ?

Hi Euan,
Sounds like a cross connect somewhere.
I'd try replacing the lamp first, Even swapping side to side if you don't have a spare.

check the wires that go into the multi plug of the rear lamp
i had the very same thing when i swapped back to the d3 lights when i was selling silver
pressed the wires in and found one had moved out slightly

Same here . Red wire into top bulb holder is dodgy. Move to a new position, and problem solved. Permament solution may be more tricky without a new part loom.

Was going to say he’s got a D4 with Leds, so shouldn’t be an issue.....
