Brake light goes out when sidelights on...

...only on the drivers side Confused
Mate was following me home last night and noticed the issue above....but only when my lights were on....I assume I have a bad earth somewhere or are there other possible causes ?

RLD spare wheel protector & sump guard
Extended roof rails
Series 111 mudflaps
Black side tubes,grill and vents
Timed climate remote
Hids4u interior lights

D4 Firenze my2012 HSE
D3 Java 2005 SE manual (sold,sadly,thanks for the memories)
1966 '88 Series 2a....still starts in the morning better than I do...

Hi Euan,
Sounds like a cross connect somewhere.

I'd try replacing the lamp first, Even swapping side to side if you don't have a spare.

check the wires that go into the multi plug of the rear lamp
i had the very same thing when i swapped back to the d3 lights when i was selling silver
pressed the wires in and found one had moved out slightly
cured

2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Manual Alveston RedDiscovery 3

Same here . Red wire into top bulb holder is dodgy. Move to a new position, and problem solved. Permament solution may be more tricky without a new part loom.
