Timing belt change

Hi guys,

I am looking to buy the timing belt kit for my 2012 D4, and just want to check whether I need to think about changing any other associated parts at the same time?

I will be changing the water pump as well as the belts.

Thanks Geoff,

The fuel pump is not with the kit so are they all the same or is there a preference of brand?

I changed my D3 belts without too much difficulty but I am told that the D4 3.0l has a timed fuel pump belt. What it involved with changing this belt?

Yes the rear belt on D4 is timed and is a lot more invovled than the D3, there is quite a lot more to remove to get to the rear belt on the D4and you need a locking tool.

The D4 belt takes a little practice but is no worse than the 2.7 belt Thumbs Up

The front belt I'd say is worse, as there is much less room to work in My D3 Build Thread
