Duff diesel particle filter |
|
Just over a year ago I had an add-on diesel particle filter fitted to my 2006 D3, the official one from Land Rover (I presume; it was fitted by my dealer). Now, in the last couple of weeks, the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA: the authority here in Germany which licenses these sort of things) has withdrawn the license for the model fitted to my car, saying that it is not effective.
As it happens, the car was at the dealers last Wednesday (to have the front differential replaced, as required by Land Rover - but not admitted to me by the dealer), so I asked whether the filter on my car was affected. "No problem there", was the answer. But in the meantime I have found the details on the KBA site and the model on my D3, ABE Nr. 17074, has indeed had its license withdrawn. The link to the KBA site is http://www.kba.de/Start/loeschung_abe_gat_201107.pdf.
The good news is that the duff filter should be replaced at no cost to the owner. I'm waiting now to see whether Land Rover or the dealer get in touch with me.
