Fuel burn heater - 2008 MY
I've had a look through the previous threads but can anyone clarify if the 2008 MY has the FBH fitted and if so, should it work. The manual mentions it briefly and as it was 0 degrees here this morning I would have expected it to work - if it ever will. Thanks Dexter.

Mine has definately got one. It was on this moning at 4 deg. C. Came on approx 30 seconds after starting the engine. It sounds a bit like a central heating boiler and you can see steam (if thats the right way to describe it) coming out from the bottom of the engine bay.

Thanks guys - I'll have to turn down the excellent sound system and listen more closely. My journey does not involve any stops or traffic so maybe I just didn't notice it working. Dexter.

You should see the exhaust gases coming out behind the front passenger side wheel... if you look up in the wheel arch behind and in front of the wheel you'll see the exhaust pipe.
Another good reason for cleaing the clay and gloop out of the wheelarches then Mine came on this morning, first time since MarchI know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
So, if they fixed it for 2008 models does anyone know what the problem was and can it now be fixed on earlier models (maybe a warranty issue ).Life is what you make it.

If its a diesel then yes you should have one.
Open the bonnet. Stand at the front of the car. Look down to your rightinto the engine bay.
Look just in front of the battery compartment and theres a small silver squashed can, about the size of an A5 book with lots of silver coloured pipes sticking out of it and one goes into the wheel arch, which is where the fumes come out of. This is your FBH.

The heater should work on your car Scolliss, but the timer (preheat) function doesn't work on any car regardless of model year.
The way it works now is to get the car up to temperature as soon as possible once the car has been started. Typically this is well under a mile, whereas without the FBH it would take a lot longer due to the relative thermal efficiency of modern diesel engines.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no.
