what wheels and tyres do i buy?
Hi All,
Been away for a while but i am now back. Hopefully picking up a disco 3 next week. the idea is it is going to be my hobby car so not be using it for work, well not to much. went for a disco 3 05 plate hse. it has 75000 miles on it with 2 owners. I want to get it kitted out properly so i can do some green laning. First thing i thought was to get back on here for advise. I want to put some big chunk tyres on it probably with steel wheels. Any suggestions? i had these 265/70/17 COOPER DISCOVERER STT PRO MUD TERRAIN 121/118Q before and they were great off road. see pic
I would also like a list of things i should do to the vehicle to prepare it for proper off road work but it will be used inroad as well some times. also thought about remapping for better power and mpg. Planning to some work myself and use Gibson Autos in Cumnock to do all the important stuff.
Suggestions welcome.

The wheels are Compomotive PD1881's. See the link in Buckster's post above.
I'm very pleased with mine, fitted with the iconic Pirelli ATR's.

i think i am going to go for a set of these wheels. very inexpensive which means more cash for tyre. not chosen tyres yet. Would appreciate some ideas on big chunky mud tyres or do i go all terrain?

Those look like the 17s.
Make sure your new D3 doesn't have V8 brakes as they won't fit with 17in rims.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto
