fitting Xenons quick question

Took off the grille and removed one light, fitted a xenon and fired it up. Looks great. BUT I ran out of time to finish the job as architect was over to talk about house stuff. So quickly put it all back to how it was. The Xenons (from ebay) dont have the sliding fitments fitted to them. Is it simply a matter of removing them from my old lights? thanks

done it. Had to remove the whole mounting bracket from the back of each of the old ones. Even in th dark it is an easy job. Went for a drive. Strange driving with such a set light pattern. Bright light and then sudden darkness at the edge.

The cut-off is very defined. I find I use main beam more around here (unlit rural roads), which is probably a good thing. Unless you happen to be in a car coming the other way. Whistle

On the subject of Xenons. I changed mine over a couple of weeks ago. I've noticed that they flicker for a sec or two when you first turn them on, is this normal?

Yep quite normal, it's just the bulb striking.

After I read this post I looked on ebay and found a complete kit at about £750 or bulbs for a lot less. Can I assume that I can go down the bulbs route? After buying my 3 yesterday I certainly can't take the £750 route!

Just fitting bulbs will make sod all difference, you need the full Xenon unit. keep an eye on eBay for used ones, they come up quite often at around £150 each. Also worth trying the breakers.

I feel sooooo much better knowing that it's normal for them to blink. Was getting a bit concerned . . . .
