service kit?

so there are a range of service kits from £30-odd to £90-odd for the filters etc. Are the Mahle or Bosch ones worth that much more than the Bearmach one?

I use genuine LR oil and fuel filters, and Mahle pollen and air filters. And i change all filters annually, except oil which gets an interim change. None of this service A and B nonsense Thumbs Up

I was always advised to change the filter whenever changing the oil .The reasoning was, new oil has fresh detergent in it and will deposit more debris in the filter so new one better. How valid this is not sure but sounds reasonable given new filters are inexpensive compared with other items.

I attempted to fit a Bearmach fuel filter to my D3 MY07 TDV6 today.
Never again will I go for Bearmach. The filter is a different size to the oem and therefore doesn’t seal properly. Outcome was diesel all over the drive and fitted the original filter back on.

There is £12 of a difference between Bearmach own brand and Genuine...

Not worth the hassle of an unexpected breakdown/disgruntled customer etc. Thumbs Up

+1 Thumbs Up always fit genuine no brainer, cheaper ones just aren’t worth the hassle, genuine ones tested and approved manufactured to specification, cheaper ones well, all sorts of potential issues or failures, how much does it really cost in the end to save a few bob on a filter at service time, however, it’s your motor entirely your choice!

really? on Advanced Factors's site, there's a price difference of quite a lot between Bearmach (£30.55) and the others they have there (£74/£81). Have just ordered the full kit including oil, but might have to revisit that. It seemed more than I'd expected.....
