LED Lights causing Faults U0416 / C1A96 |
|
Hi All,
I'm going to try and load this with keywords to help others!
So whilst I was trying to fix my rear PDC (looks like I need a new loom, as a new sensor didn't fix the ) I changed the bulbs with some I'd bought off eBay a while back and hadn't gotten round to using. These were el-cheapo LED units BTW.
The obvious fault I had was the left/right indicators, so I've gone back to standard bulbs now, but the one that caused me the most worry was the U0416 / C1A96 fault for the Vehicle Dynamics Control Module, which caused the dash to light up like an xmas tree, and gave me a Gearbox Fault, HDC Fault, and a load of other gubbins. Most distressing. Anyway, turns out you can't use cheapo LED bulbs in the brake light bulb socket, or bad things happen. Put the original bulbs back in and all is good. Think I'll just upgrade to D4 LED units and do the resistor mod...
