Hi,

Can anyone help? the door covering the 12v socket has lost a spring. Anyone got any idea how i fix it instead of replacing the whole unit?

Cigarette Lighter door beside ashtray not latching.

I have the same problem, the cigarette lighter door beside the ashtray will not latch.

For me, there are definitely springs still in place as the door wants to remain full open and one can feel the springs pushing back when one tries to close the door.

For a time, I could get the door to latch if I sort of rocked it a bit. Then later, no amount of jiggling the door around would get it to latch.

I assumed that there was something wrong with the alignment of the whole plastic assembly under the HVAC control panel. As such, I loosened the two screws (one at each end) retaining the assembly in place and tried to reposition a bit to perhaps relieve pressure, but the door still will not latch. The ash tray and the power socket door operate as they should.

It kind of seems like no one has a solution except I suppose, purchasing a new assembly.
