Deactivating Rear wiper when in reverse

Hi,

Can you deactivate the rear wiper when in reverse? Reason for wanting to do this is my rear wiper motor has given up so my wiper gets stuck half way across the window then all I can hear is the wiper motor going.

Would like to deactivate this function until I can get my hands on a new motor.

I have an iid tool Thumbs Up

Thanks,
Jamie

I think there is a small relay on the passenger side of the boot. (5 pin). Try removing it and seeing if it stops.

Fuse is a good idea also

If you motor has failed you will not hear it running! have you checked the wiper arm nut is tight and the arm is not slipping on the spline drive?
If not you could take the wiper and arm off completely.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I've been turning off the front wipers before selecting reverse but occasionally I forget!

I can certainly hear the motor trying to move the wiper blade but it always gets stuck half way across the screen. I will check the nuts! LR said it was knackered when I had a service last month.

Thanks for all the replies! Thumbs Up
