D4 MAF sensor or Turbo fault?....Sorted |
|
Hi guys,
My D4 flashed up the EML this morning and a warning note of ‘Restricted Performance’
Recovery chap with an OBD reader diagnosed the codes and told me the MAF sensor/s.
I had the D4 recovered to my local garage and after having a chat with the mechanic, he told me he has done five of these before, that had been diagnosed with the MAF sensor fault code, and it has in every case been the turbo or the turbo actuator?
Unfortunately I did not get the chance to see the code for myself, and the garage is yet to read the code for themselves, so all I have to go on at the moment are two varying degrees of cost.
Has anyone had/heard of this before and would be kind enough to offer me any advice.
Cheers,
DR

Thanks Disco_Mikey,
I have just read this thread by ridgeback_moor, hopefully I will have a better idea once I get sight of the fault codes, but I really am hoping it’s the MAF sensor fault and not something involving the turbo...

Faulty maf on mine, swapped the two maf's round, code changed. Changed back original code returned. You ideally need to find out the codes

Yesterday I was worried that the fault was more than the face value MAF sensor fault, however thanks to the good work by our local garage, they correctly diagnosed the MAF sensor (they checked the actuators too for good measure).
So we are yet again a happy household with a happy D4
For info, the codes were:
P0101
P0103
A big thank you to the forum members for simply putting up so much info on previous posts, that I was better informed when I spoke to the mechanic and actually knew exactly what he had checked.
