multi height tow bar - a dumb question

Ok grabbed a bargain on flea bay, a multi height towbar for £55, Very Happy

All is complete, but I have a question maybe a dumb one Embarassed Embarassed .

So I prefer the look and level of protection that the multiplate gives to the back bumper, so can I safely fit the tow ball to the 400mm height using 90mm bolts to allow for the ball, the spacer, multi height plate, and the main piece that locks into the bumper. The multi height plate being fixed so that I could move the ball to the 350mm height if needed.

As I say a dumb question but.....

Can someone advise, or offer opinion, thanks

I run it like that but with the plate upwards and don't see any issue with it. Does look much neater with it IMO. Thumbs Up

I have taken the heavy drop plate off altogether, not necessary unless you need a very low height and still gives two heights and will not hit the ground if offroading Thumbs Up
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Here is another discussion on the tow ball heights

http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic148386.html

This is the way I've mine on so that the plate is as high as possible.
