Megaflush in Ireland?
Hi there, anyone know of someone that can do a mega flush in south / west of Ireland? My 2005 auto is on almost 150k now, well serviced and maintained. Had the gearbox fluid changed when I bought it two years ago at 90k, hint of a shudder now
Cheers

There is nobody in the North that flushes transmissions, be interesting to see if anyone in the south is at it, I'd be surprised if there is.
It would be worthwhile to stick a tube of dr tranny in the oil cooler at this point it would help with the shudder for now.

Don't know where you got that piece of miss-information Mark, you're wrong of course. BLRC just outside Saintfield do Mega flushes, and I'm sure there are one or two others who do it as well.
Sorry can't help you though, Dave.

BLRC will be the only one then, as there's a transmission specialist in on the north coast that told me no one does flushing, you would think they would know. How much for a flush from BLRC?

IIRC I paid £260, but that did't include fitting a new filter, as I'd fitted a new steel sump and filter 6 months previously. If you're looking to have yours done give them a call.
Dave at LR Services, Straffan, County Kildare can do this. Autotranz in Walkinstown, Dublin also'05 Silver Commercial S+ gone but never forgotten

Well, I had the flush done by LR Straffan this morning and initial results are great. Quite a bit smoother and even notice the revs a little lower (that may be my optimism!). Hopefully extends the life of the box a little. Glad I did it though.
Would highly recommend the lads there too.

It was about €300, a few more days on and it feels great, really smooth and pulls nicely.

Dave I'm collecting my D3 next weekend. It's 06 and has 170k miles on the clock. She seems to have been very well looked after but what is one of the first things I should be doing with her to ensure optimum performance? These machines appear to be attention seekers which I don't mind.Discovery 3 TDV6

IF it has not had it done, the megaflush will make a difference. Get Dave at LR Straffan to give it the once over as well, good eye has that lad.
Enjoy the new Disco
