First time on this forum, so hoping that someone is able to help me out with some repair advice.
I bought a 2008 Disco 3 2.7 TDV6 HSE in December last year from a local car garage that I trust. They normally deal in Audi & VW, but they also have some experience of LR.
I had a lot of niggly issues during the first few months, but all were fixed under the second-hand car warranty. The most serious issue was breaking down on the motorway when I got a ton of error messages: Engine Malfunction, HDC Fault, Transmission Fault, Limited Gears Available, Park Brake Fault, Suspension Lowered.
I was able to drive directly back to the garage after pulling over and switching the car off and on again (90 mins with no further break downs).
That issue seemed to be fixed with a new alternator (low voltage causing spurious errors was blamed), however it started again last Thursday. The garage seem to think that it's related to fuel pressure because they found an error in the log. They have replaced the fuel filter, but it failed on a test drive. They're currently swapping one of the fuel pumps.
My concern is that they're going for the "Guess and Check" method of fixing it and I don't want to run up a large bill for unnecessary works. If the other errors were related to low voltage, how can they be confident that the fuel pressure is a genuine fault? They say that they've seen this before and that it is related, but the explanation doesn't make sense to me.
Any experience, insights or other guidance would be appreciated.

Good question.
I'm not sure how old it is (certainly not new since I bought the car in December), but one of my friends also suggested that the battery should be checked. I've not mentioned it to the garage as it seemed almost too obvious!

Mine was doing similar and the high pressure fuel pump fixed it (low pressure did nothing)

That's interesting! I think they're replacing the low pressure pump next so fingers crossed.

Hope you get it sorted.
I would replace the battery with a good a quality one as possible.
JLR electric seems to dislike a battery near the end of its life.
