D3 to D4 Facelift, Fitting a original D4 Grille on a D3

I am doing a D3 to D4 facelift, have finished the back end of car and working on the front. I am fitting D4 bumper, lights, wings and grille on front end.

Fitting the facelift parts all seems straight forward apart from the D4 grille, I tested and found the two bottom clips on a D4 grille are different than those on a D3 grille.

Can anyone offer advice on how to fit a original D4 grille on a D3 when doing a facelift and what modifications or parts are needed to make it fit?

Thanks

John

Hi, No I have not yet fitted the D4 wings, bumper and lights as I just wanted to make sure I am all prepared when I do it as want to do it all in one go (before the Mrs needs the car back). So I just tested the D4 grille and noticed the top clips were fine but the 2 corner bottom clips just didnt have anything to clip into. So wanted to check before I start Thumbs Up

So by fitting the D4 wings, bumper and lights how will this change where the D4 grille bottom clips fit into?

John

Are they not angled at the bottom corners? So you would need to fit the bumper first before it fits right

The 2 bottom pegs locate into oval holes in the slam panel pull your D3 grille off and you should see them Thumbs Up

I have read over a few posts and am I correct in thinking that I need to file the oval holes a bit so they are little wider and then insert the Discovery 4 front grille plastic mounting/docking inserts? The 2 bottom pegs on the D4 grill then clip into these (see image)
