1. Can mirrors be programmed to fold in whenever car is locked or ignition switched off?
2. My manual says one press of Land Rover button on remote will put on headlights (which it does). Second press of the button within 3 secs should put on reverse lights for seeing at the back (which it doesn't).
Discuss What if the "Hokey Cokey" really is what it's all about?

1) No. It might be a mod when the updated model comes out (next year?).
2) The Land Rover button can be programmed to put the lights on, release the tailgate and lower the suspension (if the hazard lights are on) by holding it down and doing the appropriate action.. 2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7

The Reverse lights coming on with a second press WAS on the first models out but it was removed with the enhancement program for some unknown reason, and it is not possible to have it enabled again.

Whilst my handbook (dated 2004) claims this reverse light thing works, it seems the 2005 handbook available at http://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com/ only mentions the headlamps. I guess it was only a feature for a VERY short time. Perhaps it caused confusion in car parks reversing lights coming on when nobody is in the vehicle. I can imagine all the beeping and emergency stop now
Button on the remote can do either lights, suspension or panic alarm. You program whichever you want, it can't be set up to do all three
Mirrors remain a mystery, I'm sure BMWs can do this What if the "Hokey Cokey" really is what it's all about?

My first D3 was purchased in December 2005 and the reverse lights never worked with the remote on that one either - I presumed that the reverse light option was planned (as per the manual) but never got implemented. 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

It's a standard feature on the Freelander 2 - so Land Rover are capable of it. That's what makes me think it may feature on the 'next' D3.. 2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7

There were a couple of members who went to great lengths to make the mirrors fold automatically, but to no avail I seem to recall.

I think Wiggs (?) attempted it but found that locking the doors when driving the car, or in any other circumstance within the vehicle, would fold the mirrors as well as just when you remote lock it 2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7
