I just bought, they now have extra bits to try and keep prices up, so whilst they will take a hit, hopefully it won't be too much. I don't believe FFRR and RRS took too much did they?

I believe that the used prices will follow exactly the same pattern as they did when the Disco Sport "replaced" the Freelander 2. As the Disco Sport was not a direct replacement for the FL2, in the same way that the D5 won't be for the D4, the prices of good quality, recent, FL2's actually went up (!) following the DS's launch and remarkably, they've remained in demand.

I wouldn't let concerns about resale on the D4 stop me from buying one.
 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄

2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!

I just bought, managed to get 12% discount of a new 4. The 5 isn't the same car and I think good late 4's will be at a premium the same as the last Defenders are.

Yep, got to agree, no matter what make, cars loose money.

I don't think late Discoverys will sell at a premium, I think they will loose more when the D5 is out or I'd have bought one myself, but you'd need to be Madam Fifi with her crystal ball to know for sure. Whistle

The D4 will hold its value well against the D5 as the two will be completely different and there will still be a healthy market for the more traditional shape.

As already said the Fl2 didn't suffer when the DS arrived.
