What's the little square below the Home button?

There's a tiny square cut-out between the Home and Camera buttons on the dash. Does anyone know what it is?

Cheers

It's been asked before and I don't think anyone came up with its exact use.

I have never tried to prove it, but I thought it was the IR receiver for the RSE remote control?

It really is a light sensor.

The IR receivers for the RSE remote are built into each RSE LCD screen which relay the commands on the IS bus to the RSE module and then on to the Ai Net to the DVD autochanger.
