2010 LR4 Bushing Removal Tools
I am going to replace all of my front bushings (upper and lower) and the shop manual calls for special tools to press in the bushings with the unusual flanges. Are the special tools required or can I just use a normal sleeve/cup? I have attached a pic of two of the bushings so you can see the flanges. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
By the time you factor in the tool, and your time to remove old and press in new, would it not be as cost effective/easy to change the entire arm?

Thanks for the reply. Pressing the bushings in/out isn't that time consuming with my press and some heat. The question is whether the special tools are actually needed. I also have a 2004 RR and the rave manual calls for all kinds of special tools which quite often are not needed.

I'd drop Steve (Boringoldgit) at Advanced Factors a PM as I believe they have purchased a large press for creating the final arm with all bushes in place, he'd be able to tell you what's needed

Looking at toby770's location, I think it may well be worth him pressing the bushes in and out, postage over the pond for a couple of whole arms would be rather expensive I would imagine.
Pete.IID, webasto software and workshop facility's available.

The problem with the rear bush on the lower front arm is, being oil filled, if you knick the edge of the rubber, then the fluid can leak out.
I have the gen Landrover special Mandrels for pressing and I even had to modify the correct tool to prevent damage to the bush.
