Driveway

Odd question, so I apologise in advance, but has anyone built a driveway recently for their Discovery? What depth of sub-base did you put down? I am proposing Cedec (like a boule pitch) and they recommend a depth of sub-base appropriate to the vehicle. Standard depth is 150mm (light traffic). What depth a 3 ton car?

look like 150mm sub-base is sufficient for 3 ton car.

I'd be wanting to know what the ground below was like before deciding - no point planning on putting 6" of subbase down if its bedrock a few inches below, nor is there any point putting 6" down if you've got clay below.

..............^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^.............

I can confirm that.
I used it extensively when constructing my driveway. The local Planning / Environment officer, who just 'happened' to call by [Gawd my neighbour must cost the Council £1 000s with their call outs] was most impressed by the thoroughness and exactness of the info and other data..... Thumbs Up .... and went away chuffed, and muttering about vexatious busy bodies.

AAA Very Happy
