Jacking up a Discovery 4
So to jack up the discovery 4 according to the manual I set it to off road height. Apart from chocking and raising with my new SGS 3 ton jack is there anything else?
I have had a good look in the search engine but it threw up delights such as leaving the tailgate open.
Going to try and swap the summer tyres off and get the wintracs on tomorrow.Better to be late in this world than early in the next.

I don't worry about the suspension height. If changing wheels I just put the jack under the control arms and lift.

You don't need the tailgate open, hazards on or any other voodoo that is mentioned.Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

If I jack up one end on a ramp to take say the 2 rear wheels off, are there any sensors that would need resetting?
Thanks

No, the suspension will sort itself out when you start to drive it.

Great thanks Robbie.
How about tracking, does the steering need to be re-set after recentering the steering wheel?D4 GS 12MY

I tend to drive the car back and forth between sides of the car when swapping between summers/winters. Seems to get the vehicle back into balance and makes jacking easier. That's my only tip!

When replacing all for wheels I find that if you jack a wheel at a time on the air suspension vehicle the wheels can get a bit skewed. This means that the car can jolt when you jack it. So a quick shunt around gets everything lined up properly again.

just jack it up and change the wheels , no need to shunt, wiggle or twiggle

Glad you said that Geoff - because thats what I did at the weekend to swap all 4 wheels to another set for the first time. I was a bit worried because the suspension was at all sorts of odd angles - but was all fine after I started her up and it all leveled out.MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff
