This was a common problem on the first Mercedes ML if left with the rear end facing the sun, rubbish make any way IMO Laughing It can when others can't,

I had the sunroof on my second D3 explode Surprised ...replaced under warranty Smile

Anyway the way that tempered glass (which is what is in the side windows) is cured means that it is fairly temperature resistant ...so it is doubtful that any change in ambient temperature would make it happen ....it is more likely to be that it has had an attempt break by persons or it is possible to have been struck hard before and then cracked through stresses caused. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
