| Hesitation or flat spot between 3rd and 4th |

Hi all.
Every now and then MY D4 TDv6 with around 65k miles on it would change from 3rd to 4th with a slight hesitation. Almost feels like I am applying the brakes slightly for a second or two.
Its really hard to explain but is almost like a dead spot that is not always at the same revs. There is no change in revs and that "lumpy feeling" could happen two or three times after changing. It also happens whether the motor is warm or cold.
I have booked the vehicle in for a gear box flush on Monday which is hugely expensive, so if you have any other ideas as to what it could be please let me know before I waste money. (some have mentioned it could be the EGR for example)
