Hi Folks,
Looking to get into a D4. School runs & regular family holiday trips (dog, kids, bikes etc). I'm looking at two options:
1. Nearly new HSE (<5k miles) - £42ish
2. 2011 HSE (87k miles) - £25k ish
I have cash for either......but what are folks thoughts on the wisdom of the high miler and keeping £17K in the pocket?
Cheers,
Paul

I'd say you could spend a lot less than £42K by waiting for an 8 speed HSE (from MY12 onwards) with 50K (or less) miles on the clock.
Here's an example of an earlier MY10 HSE that was for sale by a member http://disco4.com/forum/topic133135.html
Good luck and lots of pics on the one you decide on please Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

So, 8 speeder is the way to go: great advice - thanks! Now to find one: in black, privacy glass.

I wouldn't be too fussed about privacy glass - you can tints done for £200 or so and they are indistinguishable VIN: A175A328***

Really? I thought aftermarket tints involved bubbling/peeling films? They're now that good?

Watch your tints with insurance, make sure you tell them and some may push up your premium Iggy/Ieuan

Tints aren't as good. They tend to show the shaded gradient areas at the edge of the glass and show up all the electrical heating/radio aerial elements in the glass.
My first was tints, when I bought this one mineral tint factory glass was a priority, it looks far far better.
Also doesn't get scratched inside and doesn't damage as easily ( as anyone that carried to load capacity in the rear can testify!!) MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

Paul...
You could always get it wrapped...!
However, the white does look mighty cool and, more importantly, if Gary's got it for sale, I'd suggest it's a good 'un!
Worth considering? D4 Commercial - 65 Plate, 2016MY
D5 Commercial - Handed back when I left that job…
D4 Commercial (2014MY) - gone
D4 Commercial SDV6 - Baltic Blue (also gone)
D1 300TDi... 2" lift, HD bumpers (both), detachable tow hitch, 9,500lb winch, 235/85/16 muds and plenty of other toys (gone to make way for the next toy...)
Smiles per Mile - Tornado Motorsports caged Evo 3... 100" Defender look-alike, with Range Rover running gear - all fully IVA'd and registered!
