FBH for keeping interior warm

I go out and sit on hills to do my amateur radio contests and of course when I get there the car is warm but cools down as the night goes on.

I have tried turning the FBH on without adjusting the temperature and it seems to try to cool the car down rather than warm it up.

I will try turning the temp up tonight.

Is this likely to work or do i need to run the engine to warm the interior in these situations?

Changing the temp on the dials makes no difference to the park or remote heating. Its binary, below a certain outside temp it warms above the same temp it cools. I can't remember what that magic temp is right now, something like 15 degrees.

Yes. I'm pretty sure it's 15deg. also. At current outside temperatures it should be warming Confused

This is news to me. Are you saying that if I blip the remote on a hot summer's day, the FBH will cool the car before I get in??

Yes, as above, if outside temp is above 15 and you turn on using the remote the blowers run but not the FBH so as to 'vent' the vehicle effectively reducing the interior temp (rather than what could be described as 'cooling')
