D4 service reminder reset

Hi, had my car serviced last week by a main dealer and it seems they forgot to reset the reminder that pops up the dash. Is there any way I can do this myself without special tools?

TIA.

Rolling Eyes It beggars belief how incompetent dealers are ...... I figure, by a dealership and do it properly, followed by purchasing a 'Super Yacht' ... for those that may have seen 'Mega Yacht' on Channel 4 today.... Smile

Simple answer is no - you need to take it back or use a resetter or something like a Faultmate.

Oh, not the answer I was looking for. Cost me an arm and a leg too for what amounts to some oil and air in the tyres. Back to my local indie from now on.

This method apparently works on MY15 D4s
1.Set the ignition to the ON position.
2.Open the hood.
3.Open the drivers door.Note:A service resetting message will apppear on the instrument cluster.
4.Fully depress both the accelerator and brake pedals and hold for 10 seconds.
5.Set the ignition to the OFF position.
6.Set the ignition to the ON position and check the message has been cleared.
7.If the message remains, repeat the process.

Worth a try.

Good luck!

Would the engine not start after pressing the button for ignition off after step 4? Confused

It is part of the service - take it back and get them to do it for free - afterall you have already paid for it.
