Hi
Long term (9 years) disco 3 owner and regular user of this site, now looking to change.
looking at vw touareg, Santa fe or upgrade to a Disco4.
Really want a disco 4 but this will be our third disco and wife fancies a change.
Thoughts??
I suppose its my own fault as I bought a slightly lighter caravan earlier this year and its opened up these other options.
Anyway, my local dealer has a 64 plate se tech with only 4500 miles at £41k, I'll go and view it tomorrow. Its in the colour I like, Corris grey with almond leather..
www.colliers.erdington.landrover.co.uk
any comments? looks like fitted options are electric seats and armrests. plus usual SE Tech equipment
Question = is there a quick way to tell if its a 2015 or 2014 model year.
it was registered on 9 sept 2014 but they have it on their website as a 2014. I would have thought by September it would have been 2015 build. Does it make a difference? when did start /stop commence, was that 2015 model year?
What would be the advantage in buying a 2015 over a 2014. I believe the road tax is the same. Anyway, better than the £505 on my 2006 !!
Thanks in advance
Steve

well the deal is done!!
Went to see the car and its just what I was after.
2015 (64 Reg) Corris Grey SE Tech with extras of privacy glass and electric seats with armrests.
One local elderly owner, 12 months old and only 4500 on the clock. Looks like no one has sat in the passenger seat or rear seats.
According to two other salesmen at the dealership he changes his car every 12 months and has had the exact same spec again.
LandRover have an offer on at the moment, take some finance and get two free services. So I have taken the minimum amount and intend to pay off after 6 months to save interest but keep the servicing offer.
Pick up Sunday hopefully.
Now will need to sort mats (tight gits wouldn't throw any in despite pressing) and tow electrics. Towbar I can move across and see if it still rattles. Checked last month and they said it was ok.

Very pleased to hear it
You had me seriously concerned with those comments about downgrading to a toe rag or a Hyundai 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!
(One of only two known to exist in the world!)

Thanks.
Saw the car on their website, Corris is my first colour choice and I wanted Almond interior as I like the fact it lightens the car. Armrests and electric seats are a bonus.
Wife was adamant that she wanted a change until we test drove the D4. Comments from the back .. this is nice, much smoother than ours, I like the fact that the seats are not as low. Isnt the engine quiet. Its much more modern inside.
We saw the Touareg last Sunday, I knew if I could get her into a 4 last it would do the trick.
Job done and I know it will pull my van and do all I want it to do. and I can continue to use the knowledge base on here to keep it running correctly.
