Gear box flush oil question
Good morning all,
Am I right in thinking the gear box mega flush can only be done with special LR oil? And that the flush requies 14ltrs?
Thanks as always 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

The flush takes around 10 or 11 litres, if Geoff or Mikey were doing it they would normally stop adding oil when it ran clean so no exact change amount for a proper job.
Don't think it takes quite as much as 14l generally. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Ok Steve has the right stuff so that's good
I just wanted to make sure I knew what was going on before hand
Thanks guys much appreciated
So 14ltrs would be a safe bet then on a 94,000 that has not had a flush done before? I am looking to get it done at Glosteroad gear boxes (as I keep missing you Geoff ) they have good feed back from guys on here too 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

Just to add a note to this thread, My indy LR dealer fully flushed the 'box with the existing sump and filter in place. Then he replaced the sump with a new ZF metal one complete with new replaceable filter. This was to make sure that the new filter was not contaminated. Total oil used, just under 20 litres. Total cost for sump, filter, oil and labour £500.00 inc. VAT (£100.00). This was done at 81,000 mls., so, peace of mind, innit?!! 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE
