Great being over 50 in Scotland
We are going to Edinburgh for 4 days so letting the train take the strain, no need for a car. Insch Station (Aberdeenshire) to Edinburgh Waverley £20 return for two of us, courtesy of Scotrail's Club 50, includes booked seats.
Good old Dutch!!!!!!

Always after a bargain
Last time we took the train the robbing bas s charged us 35 quid each for a return from Cupar to Aberdeen
Only to go to the apple shop to be told by a " Guru " my phone was f d
But a replacement was only about £75 iirc
D3 57 xs Stornaway grey

Railway bashing is always a popular sport in this country, so it's nice to hear a positive side to it.
For those 55 or over though, the former "Club 55" as run by First was a better offer...
In truth our railways are pretty good and there are great bargains about, particularly for those well versed in the complexities of the fares system. As one of the various oddities I've previously discovered, I was able to get myself a First Class Anytime return useable to get from here to London for £20. As expected, this drew attention the loophole was closed up soon after...Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

You're spot on, trying to fit in as many £10 trips as we can before it goes to -20% after the 30th Sept.

We're doing the newly re-opened Borders railway - Montrose to Edinburgh to Tweedbank and back - next Thursday. £10 each inc. free coffee & tea. Taking a picnic. Went for a job as a human cannonball. Not the right calibre.
