Appreciate any advice on what should have been a 5 minute job to replace an armrest which was worn leather
rotated the armrest control rod all the way out, removed trim and torx screw
rotated the armrest to 45 degrees and tried to pull the armrest off the bolt by wiggling forward and backwards
At first nothing, but then it partially came away and some movement along the hinge pin but feels like it is stuck on the 45 deg catchpin.
I have applied silicone spray, moved the armrest up and down around the 45 degree point to see if there is a location that frees the catchpin, but nothing
I have tried a bit of brute force which normally works for discos, by nothing, and I dont want break the chair or the hingepin
has anybody come across this before and has a solution apart from brute force?

Looks like you’ve done what he describes so either the adjustment screw is still in the way, or the brute force method is required.2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

When I converted my seats from manual to electric on one of them after removing the bolt armrest it also wouldn’t come off
just remembered as I tried a few things , I used 2 x pieces of rope wrapped around the back of the armrest then attached the rope to each puller arm , timber on the front and came off like that
Thick towel under the rope round the back to prevent it getting damaged
