Which cadac BBQ
I want to get a cadac gas BBQ, torn between the 3 types. I think the safari chef is too small and the chef 2 is quite big for taking camping unless I have a caravan to store it in (which I don't) as its a daily big box. I plan to also leave it in the overland trailer, again I think the chef 2 will take up 30-40% of the space and an awkward size.
Therefore this leaves the grillogas, slightly smaller than the chef 2 without the lid. I don't think I plan on roasting food, just grilling. But the chef 2 seams like better value.
Thoughts/comments welcome on the models:thumbsup:CLUB DEFNER

I have a safari chef, which I can get by on, looking to trade up to either the carri chef 2 or a Weber Baby Q.
My pal has just had a grillo gas explode on him and cadac have replaced it with a carri chef 2, dont know the exact circumstances but something obviously failed!!!

I've just cooked my dinner on a Safari Chef and have been using it for camping for more than ten years (it is a bit battered). When caravanning though, we've got a Carri Chef as it suits the cooking better and plugs into the 'van gas system. Horses for courses, really.Darren

Safari Chef here and have managed for up to 6 before now.
That said tend to also use a charcoal BBQ and have one of those cheap'n'nasty but oh so useful single hob Gelerts which run off the aerosol can butane.
Between them they are easy to carry, store and can cater for a multitude of situations.

Jet boil owner already
I went with the cadac grillogas. The Carri chef 2 is just too big for camping trip based on the volume it takes up in the boot. We want something we can take to our cabin in France too.
The grillogas is about 30% smaller cook area does not have the domed lid and the grill plate is reversible too, so pack size is about 60% smaller than the Carri 2 but 50% more cooking area than the safari chef. Got a price match at go outdoors plus they bet it by 10% so got it for £80 CLUB DEFNER

I have a Carry-Chef for years. Its fantastic. If you get the Paella pan, not only does it cook a great paella, but it will make a great big campsite frying pan for a huge breakfast!

Well if this is turning into a Cadac breakfast thread, here's my offering:
You cannot beat a good old bbq with charcoal!!
The only way to bbq
You may as well buy a George Foreman grill if you buy a Cadac!!

Safari Chef works well for me! Packs down to damn near nothing - I run the HP one so it takes the same canisters as the Jet Boil Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
