Is it me or are they getting more expensive, looking to book the summer fortnight. A site on the Gower for 14 night 2 adults and 2 kids for £360.
Seems more than it used to be even though it's really only £25 a night.
Any thoughts?Mark

I have stopped using them as way too expensive. Now use CL has less regimental and a lot cheaper and in many cases nicer.

Isn't it just a case of everything getting more expensive? Commercial sites are generally no better but at least the CC is more of a known quantity in terms of their facilities.Darren

Yes we love the CL's but the summer break needs to be child friendly and CL's are adult focused. Anyone a CCC member to compare the prices?
And I agree I love the quality of the CC sites.Mark

Was both, dropped CC as too expensive and we prefer CL's. Have been happy with CCC as it seems a bit less formal.

We have 2 kids and go away with other families with kids and only use CLs, the most we pay is £13pn with electric, we take the ponies with us to one site as well. We try to use sites that have over 3 acres or like one in the New Forest open straight out onto the open forest.
I went to a CC site once - never again, stupid white pegs, tiny pitches, too many idiots as well, or is it me DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

You used to be able to rent pitches ....... not buy them.
It's part of the reason I gave up caravanning.
You've got to buy a caravan, kit it all out, insure it, (possibly) pay for external storage, service & repair it, and then pay these extortionate site fees every time you want to use it.
So now, as well as camping, I just rent cottages.
No need to load up the car, tow it, park it up, set it up, wrestle with an awning - then do it all in reverse when it's time to go........ especially when it pees it down.
We did the cottages Ron while the caravan was off the road last year. Nice, but I missed my van!!Mark

You'll go back to them Mark, once the kids are up and away.
I did cottages, then caravanning, now as an old git back to cottaging.... no, not that kind.

Afraid not Andy, just all the big ones so far.
However just bought a canopy for my little un.
Off camping tomorrow, so going to try it out then and see how it goes.
