Ok will get fault codes from centre. They cite the ecu that controls fuel supply. Thanks
I note you don't mention the low pressure pump? Has this been considered? Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Not mention low pressure pump no - is that the one in the fuel tank?
Yes. It is a major consideration in such a problem and by no means unlikely to be the cause. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Sounds a bit like 'lets try this next'. (or parts darts as it's known in the trade).
Have they checked the low pressure supply to the HP pump when driving/faulting, what were the values, what fault codes when faulting? What is the volume regulator duty cycle of the HP pump when playing up?
How did they draw the conclusion it is the ecu?
If they are 100% sure it's the ecu, then no problem, but ask them to take it back off & not charge you if they are incorrect in their diagnosis.
Post what details you can get.
regards

The way they're going this could end up being an expensive fix.

Brake light switch It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Sounds like they gave the LP side half a thought with the fuel filter, but it does still sound like an LP issue. Fault codes, LP fuel pressure and LP fuel pump amperage would all be helpful. An expensive ECU would not.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
