Susepension Lowered Fault-Landrover Centre say needs new ECU

I have had suspension lowered fault, five lights and into limp mode.

Garage has replaced compressor, fule filter and hi pressure fuel pump (that under recall thankfully).

Problem still occurs, unless drive very gingerly under 1500 rpm. Seems to occur when accelerate above 2000 RPM

Service Centre say only option left is a new ECU -is that correct advice?

Can i get reconditioned or breakers ECU or is new only option?

What would be cost fitted (service centre say approx £1800 to fit new ECU)?

Thanks
Mike

Ok will get fault codes from centre. They cite the ecu that controls fuel supply. Thanks

The Engine ECU then. Thumbs Up

I note you don't mention the low pressure pump? Has this been considered? Question

Yes. It is a major consideration in such a problem and by no means unlikely to be the cause. Thumbs Up

Sounds a bit like 'lets try this next'. (or parts darts as it's known in the trade).

Have they checked the low pressure supply to the HP pump when driving/faulting, what were the values, what fault codes when faulting? What is the volume regulator duty cycle of the HP pump when playing up?

How did they draw the conclusion it is the ecu?

If they are 100% sure it's the ecu, then no problem, but ask them to take it back off & not charge you if they are incorrect in their diagnosis.

Post what details you can get.

regards
Steve

The way they're going this could end up being an expensive fix.

Sounds like they gave the LP side half a thought with the fuel filter, but it does still sound like an LP issue. Fault codes, LP fuel pressure and LP fuel pump amperage would all be helpful. An expensive ECU would not.
