United Kingdom 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 Base 7 Seat Manual Tonga GreenDiscovery 3
Gearbox breathers

Help required please,

I currently have the body off on my 2005 D3, manual,

there are 2 breather pipes leaving the top of the gearbox assembly, one slightly larger diameter than the other

I assume these are supposed to run up the back of the engine to above "fording depth", however, mine were just dangling loose down near the fuel filter???

The larger diameter one has a P clip on it, and the thinner one is clipped to the larger one with a double plastic clip, I cant really see which bolt the larger one is meant to be attached to secure it to the back of the engine. it is quite badly bent, this is why its not really obvious where its meant to go

Any help would be greatly appreciated, photos even more so

Cheers Woody,

that helps loads, I can see now they run up between the crossover pipe vertical brackets and the p clip must be onto the coolant pipe securing bolt, as that's the only bolt small enough to go through the clip in that area,

Thanks again
