P0490 egr error

Hi,

Both EGRs were replaced under warranty 120 miles ago, but today got the MIL light and error P0490 egr control circuit high. Also got U0073 - control module communications bus off.

I cleared both faults but after starting P0490 returned. Via data stream I noticed that the EGR valves were stuck at 4.7% even while driving.

Both EGRs replaced with new.

D3 is a 09MY and cannot remove EGRs since under warranty.

What could be the issue?

Thanks,

Bob

I would start with the connector, check the terminals and pins. Followed by a visual inspection of the harness for signs of damage. The DTC indicates an electrical fault is present but your scantool is showing some live data for the EGRs. Further tests are possible but you will require a DVOM.
