No worries. I had the same thought before. I've got 6 light force lights. 2 are HID (240). Will be doing the 170s all HID eventually. Still the area great without, but I was more light! Filming something somewhere...

Did you convert or where they HID's anyway.
This is mine with 4x170's and 2x140's
This is a vid of my 170's. I turn them on at around 1.15s just need to align them a bit.
Cheers

Gee how much light do you fellas need? I find the standard halogen headlamps with a set of Osram Nightbreakers more than enough for me.
Badly adjusted high power spots give a momentary blackout when dipped. This effect is worse than having lower powered lights in the first place. To much contrast is bad between high and low is bad Freelander SE 2005 Auto.

I have converted my LF140's to H3 bulbs, so that I could run either H3 LED bulbs, H3 blue bulbs or H3 HID kit.
I am currently running H3 100w Blue bulbs in my 4 spots and think they have made the world of difference a lot whiter light. Might go down the HID route at later date.Tonga Green D3

What you have to do is unscrew the lense off the light unit, and on the side of the black plastic stem there is a small rivet, drill that out gentally and remove the hole bulb holder and replace it with the new one.
Change the ends on the wires to allow for the new bulbs.
End result is:

Been having a look at all the how too' s on YouTube and it looks pretty straightforward to convert to HID's.
Think this is something I'll have a go at in the near future
