Strange gas pedal/throttle problem..won't go sometimes.

I can recreate it every time at the same intersection, although it also happens at other times.

So I'm driving on a flat surface and coming up to a stop sign to turn right. I'll slow down to a crawl, look left, see that no one is coming and give it gas to get on the road. Well nothing happens as I'm slowly pressing the pedal as I usually do. It's as if it's completely disconnected. I finally have to really push it down to get it to wake up. Then it jerks forward and goes. Hope I described that accurately.

Very frustrating. Any ideas? Is this a transmission issue? If I come to a complete stop, it behaves fine. ??

Weird - I had exactly the same last night.

A quick whizz of the gear selector (Auto box) and normal service was resumed - I feel a selector lever 'lube n wiggle' coming on this weekend Whistle
