Do I need a diagnostic tool?
Well after a 4 year break, I am back to D3 ownership. I have been catching up on the forum and note the plethora of diagnostic tools. Iid, nanocon, MSV2 etc etc. a couple of questions for those in the know if I may?
I want to be able to read and clear fault codes, do I need anything flash or just a basic reader?
What's the difference between all the different types, do they have different functionality?
Assuming I need one, where's the best place to buy one?
Thanks in advance

My experience, after an good FCR , I use an IIDTool,BT, all the best for my D3.
Easy to use (specially with iPad interface), and very good and prompt support from GAP.
I don't know the other tool, so can't advice...
You can found many post here..

I am another fan of the iid BT especially if you have an iPad 3 or later or a later generation Android tablet.

That's kind of you mate. Warminster isn't far and I am there with work quite frequently. Does Nanocom allow you to adjust and modify setting on the car, enable 4x4 screen, 3 flash indicators etc, or is it purely a code reader and reset tool?
In terms of flashing and CCF changes, it's not as simple as the IID but offers more freedom. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC
