Blackvue camera position?
Where is the most popular position for the blackvue camera. Thinking about right under the mirror plastic moulding in the middle of the screen. Trying for somewhere that doesnt block vision, but with acess for sim card, cables, etc.
Sound about right?

Mines just to the left of the mirror with the sticky pad on the dots. To be honest if I was to do it again I would move it a bit further over cos its a bit of a squeeze to remove the sd card. Plent of room for the power cables etc. I think I had a photo of it in my gallery

OK, just taken a look at that - might work. I'll have a look later on mine.
Thanks

Mine's under the mirror - would take a picky, but swimbo's taken the car tonight as it warms up quicker than hers (& it magically refills with diesel too!)

Mine is in a similar position to Dan's but on the driver's side - gives more of a view of the other side of the road and makes the card easier to get out. Doesn't impinge drivers view out at all.

Mine is same as Dans also.
Makes it easier to hide the power cable and make it less obtrusive.
If you get the wifi version then I doubt you'll have to take the SD card out too often

Yes putting on the passengers side makes it easier to hide the wire. However because the mirror is angled towards the driver I actually find it less obtrusive mounted on the driver's side because the mirror hides it more. I'll take a pic of mine in the morning.

On a side issue - I have just bought a Mini 0803/0805 Dash Cam and it seems to work OK. The instructions are in Chinlish so impossible to follow but I have generally muddled through but have two questions that I guess apply to all cams.
My camera has settings for E.V. but no where does it explain what it is. Settings range from -3 to +3 but I have no idea what it should be set too.
Also - resolution settings are 2304x1296; 1920x1080 or 1280x720. Given Full HD is 1920 and HD is 1280 I would have thought the lowest setting would be OK but I am not sure.
Advice appreciated.
Oh I am going to buy a front and rear BlackVue unit for the RRS but I bought this Mini to try things out first - the mini will move across later to be shared by my 101 and Haflinger.
Thanks
Garry

The Ev setting on your camera will probably be Exposure Value, if the camera is producing too dark or too light results you can change the exposure value to compensate for this. As for the resolution settings, do they all have the same fps (frames per second) you want to aim for approx 25-30 fps for smooth video playback, the best thing to do would probably be try all 3 resolutions and see which is providing the best playback Cheers Ian

well Blackvue fitted, directly below mirror - wire running up the righthand side of mirror housing, across top of screen behind headlining, down window pillar behind door seal, and across behind panel below steering wheel, to plug into right hand 12v socket - looks pretty neat.

Sorry - another question - Whilst the red "recording" symbol flashes when the unit is running, the blue LED ring around the push button on the end also flashes - manual says this is the security led - missus is already complaining, as its her side, and in the dark it is quite bright - cant see from the settings if this can be turned off.
is a matter of finding something to cover it?

You can turn off the security led on the 650 in the blackvue app or on the computer. Not sure which bv you have though.
