LR specialist near Arrochar? Starting issue.

It started this morning but was idling around 3-400rpm with battery light flashing or 30-40 seconds. Then ticked over as normal. I tried to rev it while it was lumpy but the throttle did nothing until it picked up. I'd had the FBH on for 5-10 mins (not long enough, I know) before starting. I'm not sure if this helped or made it worse?
I'm guessing battery and/or alternator. As I have no service history, I'm thinking change both to be sure.
Can anyone recommend anyone in the Argyll area as close to loch Long/Fyne/Lommond as possible?

Both are not hard to change at all and could save yourself a bit of cash.

I think I know whats happened here Exclamation

The FBH has ran for a short while, enough to warm the coolant enough so that the glow plugs don't work. As a result, there is very little temperature in the cylinder, and the fuel is not burning properly, hence the low idle, and battery warning light on (as the engine is not turning over fast enough)

Mine does exactly the same if I run the FBH for too short a time in the mornings Thumbs Up

Cheers DM, should I try it in the am without the FBH, or run it for the full 30 mins? Also, did you get my pm?

IIRC standard is 30 minutes with the option to set the DIP switch for 45 minutes

Thank you DM. Tried it this morning and fired up with a 2 second stutter at the most. So looks like the batt and alt are fine. For now! I'll try it tomorrow with a full FBH cycle and see if that gets rid of the stutter all together.
