EPB Switch removal
Intermittent park brake fault happening so I am hoping its the switch. Metal Monster Junk did a sterling job providing me with one on the hurry up buuuuuuutttttttt.........
It looks like one screw then slide back and remove but obviously its a bit more than that?
Before I use violence, do I need to remove the centre console cover and if so, how? According to youtube it seems you just pull it off but it feels really tight. Is this correct?
Cheers
Pete

Just pop the little panel out at the aft end of the EPB lever, remove the one off screw and the switch will slide out. No need for major reconstruction. Mods:

If you are struggling, unplug the electrical connector first. Gives you a little more room to manoeuvre the switch out My D3 Build Thread
Any luck popping the switch out? I'm trying the same and have been unsuccessful. If you did, did this fix the problem?

The switch comes out by sliding it backwards but it is tight and does take a bit more pressure than you might expect.
Removing the electrical connector as Disco Mikey suggested first would have helped but I wasn't able to do that as I was worried I was going to break it as it was tightly on.
Sadly no, the problem wasn't the switch as I hoped. I went to my local Indy and they read the fault codes which show my clutch sensor is faulty which can apparently cause strange issue like the EPB thinking its faulty.
I will of course check the connector behind the wheel arch as well.
I had planned to do that yesterday but man flu made the settee a more attractive proposition!
