Rear brake shoes return spring

I'm sure i'm doing something wrong but i can't seem to stretch the lower park shoe return spring (R/H) to locate in its notch. Theres no mention of this being so difficult anywhere I can find. Is there anyone out there who has a clever technique or is it just persistence ?

Thanks in advance

You mean the thicker heavier one? You need to connect it to both sides first. You'll never get it on trying to stretch it across afterwards.

Have you looked at the Brake Bible?

Yes Bodsy, I've been using the Bible, brilliant but doesn't seem to explain that. I have tried hooking them on first but then I couldn't get them in.I'll keep trying. Thanks for the help

I found they can take a bit of a tap with a hammer to get them in. Thumbs Up

OK managed it, hook the spring on to the already installed shoe and the other one unseated from the bit where they pivot to provide the narrowest gap then carefully manoeuvre the spreader plate with spring held with tie into position behind, then lever the shoes into position pushing with a palm then knock them into position with rubber mallet. Not easy, four spanners rating I'd say. Anyone know where the red and green tiny springs in the kit go. Thanks for the help Bodsy.
