After doing about 100 miles yesterday the Engine Management System Light came on for no apparent reason, i.e. no loss of power.
I checked the handbook (pg 163) and it shows a diagram with an exclamation mark through it telling you that there is a serious fault whereas the light on my dash does not have an exclamation mark. The book refers to the light I have but for petrol engines only.
I will book the car in on Monday to have the codes checked but has anyone any ideas whats going on?
Thanks in advance,

You say 06, but is it a chassis number with 7A in it....?
I suspect it's just EGR valve failure message.Bodsys Brake Bible
The car was first registered in October 2006 and yes it does have 7A in the number.
If you are right and its an EGR valve, can these be blanked? I have heard somewhere that at this age they can't and have to be replaced.
I've been using Milars diesel addative for the past 20000 miles or so but the wife has filled up the last 2 times and not used it, then the warning light appears. I have now filled up again and now no warning light.
Coincidence or what?

Fault light

Hi, the fault light in the attached photo appeared on the way home last night. I carried on driving steadily, and the car felt fine. The light is still showing today - any ideas?
Thanks
